Company and Job Description

Trans Ash, a rapidly growing Cincinnati based civil construction & environmental company, seeks a Quality Manager for the utility construction industry. This position will be based out of Bucks, AL and may require some initial travel for training.

Role and Responsibilities

The Quality Manager will develop and manage the Project Specific Quality Assurance Program:

  • Develop, implement, & manage all project specific Quality Assurance/Quality Control tasks.
  • Develop a comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of the contract documents (Drawings, Specs, Quality ETC.)
  • Plan ahead and study specifications for ASTM and other applicable references and communicate with Project Management team in advance of those activities taking place.
  • Implement engineering procedures, SOP’s & document control.
  • Ensure strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements at all times.
  • Provide follow-up and enforcement for any inspection or quality deficiencies and identify and document lessons learned.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors and vendors to ensure that the project-specific QA/QC Plan delivers a fully compliant project.
  • Understand the project execution plans and coordinate Quality Control procedures at appropriate stages of the work and in line with the project schedule.
  • Help develop and implement the Site Inspection and Test Plans, identifying and reviewing all required hold points and specifications at the beginning of the project to set an expectation of all quality requirements for each task throughout the project.
  • Hold all responsible parties accountable for outstanding items.
  • Make sure that all closeout document requirements are procured and organized per specifications.
  • May require significant time in the field, including walking up or down slopes.
  • Support other operational needs.


  • A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management and a minimum of 3 years of experience in a related civil construction position, or
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a related civil construction position (project management, engineering, estimating, etc), or
  • An equivalent combination of related education and experience.

The successful candidate must possess effective communication skills and the ability to comfortably represent the company in meetings. This individual must also have the ability to see the big picture regarding quality tasks of the project and how those tasks impact current and future planning and decision-making within the organization.

Must pass a background check, driver's license check and drug test. No exceptions.
